Our Journey

After 10 years of Animal Welfare Work (P.D.S.A, S.P.C.A, A.A.C.L) and 10 years of private practice work in various veterinary practices in South Africa and the U.K, I decided it was time to open my own clinic, where I would be free to offer my own style of Integrative Medicine, including a holistic approach using herbal and homeopathic remedies and acupuncture. I had also completed a post-graduate degree in Veterinary Medicine & Clinical Pathology so that we could offer the latest in allopathic medicine as well. I started consulting at home, and, after years of searching for premises, moved into the old village shop on the corner of Main Rd and Kenali Close. Fortunately, we had the overwhelming support of the Noordhoek Community and the civic and environmental organisations to get permission to open on the Main Road. My intention was always to provide a needed service for the community rather than a flashy commercial enterprise. At the time of opening in 2003, and for 18 years, the team at Noordhoek Vet provided 24-hour care for 7 days a week, until Covid struck, and this became unsustainable. We have treated horses, alpacas, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, birds, as well as dogs and cats, and other domestic smallies (rats, mice, guinea pigs, hamsters). We have also treated many wild birds as well as baboons, genets, caracals, porcupines, and even dune rats, snakes & leopard toads! The idea behind Noordhoek Vet was to create a pet-friendly, family-friendly, homely and welcoming clinic, causing as little fear & trauma to our patients as possible.

Alongside this, we have always strived to provide the best care and service to our community.

We treat wildlife and wild birds at no cost, provide discounted rates for welfare organisations and assist as far as possible to alleviate suffering at all times.

We have an excellent team of vets & nurses who continually update & extend their knowledge. We have the latest laboratory equipment, digital X-rays, ultrasound and endoscopy so that we can offer superlative & experienced medical & surgical expertise.
